NGX: Digital Expansion Interactive

This project is a digital and mechanical exhibit, part of a travelling exhibition by the Canadian Agriculture and Food Museum (CAFM) titled Soil Superheroes. I worked on this month-long project with the Head of Design as a UI Design contractor. My role was to collaborate with the design lead to come up with the most intuitive UI designs and mockups for the screens, while still satisfying the client’s feedback and desires.

NGX is a creative technology studio that partners with clients to reimagine what’s possible in physical and digital spaces. They are focused on people and fuelled by collaboration to activate storytelling, art, and technology to inspire and engage.

The main message of this display was to inform how human activities can jeopardize the balance of soil ecosystems and affect their ability to function, or they can help soil ecosystems. The target audience to engage were to children and adults that were ages 8+.

The learning objectives and outcomes of this display were for visitors:

  • To learn that human expansion and consumption habits are rapidly changing land.
  • To witness the speed at which humans are changing land use in Canada and around the world.
  • To learn how humans are changing land use.
  • To understand that our lifestyle habits have an impact on land use around the world.

Unfortunately, the rest of the work is under an NDA so I won’t be able to share it. However, do check out the CAFM site to see the ongoing exhibition.
